Club lines up for National Rally in Moss Vale

Club interest in the 16th National Morris Minor Rally at Moss Vale over Easter was strong, with 11 cars entered, plus a number of other members visiting to see the display.

In accordance with attendance at previous rallies, we travelled in two convoys, the sedate travellers, and the less sedate, meeting at Sutton Forest to travel the last few kilometres to Moss Vale.

As always, it was a congenial weekend with plenty of opportunities for socialising.

Congratulations go to the Southern Highlands Morris Minor Car Club for their excellent hospitality and the rich program on offer.  Making such a complex undertaking run smoothly takes a lot of hard work by some and the assistance of many others who pull together effectively to achieve a shared goal – very well done guys!

The Canberra contingent comprised a very eclectic band, including standard, chopped and modified cars.

Solid club turn up at Wheels 2013

Drivers and passengers from nine club cars braved a strong breeze to take part in Shannon’s Wheels at Thoroughbred Park.

It’s the second time this event has been held at this venue and just confirms that it’s a great place to put cars on show and to gather.

Best of all, a revised layout this year meant plenty of space around the cars and a relaxed atmosphere

2012 Marques in the Park

A very pleasing turn up of members and their cars at Shannons 2012 Marques in the Park at John Knight Park in Belconnen.

Marques set its usual casual tone, with estimates of the roll-up of cars at a shade under 700 cars, so it was definitely the place to be for motoring enthusiasts.

A number of firsts, a first outing for our robust new gazebo bought to replace the one that the brisk Lake Burley Griffin sirocco destroyed during the Battle of Waterloo and a first outing for Blackie in his new livery, no longer black in colour, but still the same old Blackie underneath.
